Halullinen Sielu (The lustful soul)

from On the Shoulders of the Great Bear by Andrew Cronshaw

/

about

From Kuopio, in central Finland - a hymn tune, but not played as one. It’s joined by a Finnish runo-tune.

Noted by Ilmari Krohn in Kuopio. To be found in the “Hengellisiä Sävelmiä” (Religious melodies) volume of Ilmari Krohn's “Suomen Kansan Sävelmiä”. (My copy of this volume is a bound-together collection of the booklets, its spine title typed on a slice of birchbark - Finnish folk-art bookbinding!)
